D-DENT began in 1986 as a project of Variety Health Center. Consequently, D-DENT became its own agency with a $100,000 grant from the Legislature. Since then, over 400 volunteer Dentists and 85 dental laboratories statewide have donated comprehensive dental services valued at over $5 million.
